Air Canada is suspending select domestic, transborder, and international routes.

In a statement from the carrier, they say how the suspensions have to do with rising fuel costs and low-profit routes. “Jet fuel prices have doubled since the start of the Iran conflict, affecting some lower-profitability routes and flights which now are no longer economically feasible.”
Air Canada’s transborder cuts include pausing Toronto-New York JFK and Montreal-JFK services from June 1st to October 25th. On June 30th, Air Canada will suspend all Toronto-Salt Lake City routes into 2027.
Domestically, the Vancouver-Fort McMurray route will be suspended May 28th, and the Toronto-Yellowknife route will be suspended August 30. Internationally, the planned and awaited Montreal-Guadalajara route has been suspended before its official launch.
Operations between Montreal and Toronto, and Newark and New York LaGuardia will remain unchanged.
